sisal grass

what is sisal grass?

sisal is a species of flowering plant widely cultivated and naturalized in many countries. it yields a stiff fibre used in making rope and various other products.

to obtain the fibres from its leaves the plant is crushed, beaten, and brushed away by a rotating wheel set with blunt knives, so that only fibres remain .

cleaning

remove any stains as quickly as possible by blotting the stain with a clean, absorbent cloth until the cloth is saturated. do not rub the stain or you will push the stain into the fibres. continue blotting with a clean cloth until the cloth comes away dry.

sun & fading

keep dyed products out of direct sunlight for long periods of time to avoid natural fading.
all natural products with little or no coloring do well in direct sunlight.
