We go to Singapore at least once per year for work, and are lucky enough to stay for an extended period of time. Whilst our Singpore stints are mostly centred around corporate stuff (ugh) and sadly less about design and crafts, we at least make it a priority to explore the city's bustling food scene.
Here are our most recent 2025 favorite picks that stood out to us in terms of atmosphere, design & taste - enjoy!
1.
Forma, East Coast
Forma is a chic Italian eatery in Singapore, celebrated for its modern twist on classic dishes. With a cozy yet stylish ambiance, it offers a menu rich in handcrafted pastas and fresh seafood, complemented by an impressive wine selection.
Located in a laid-back residential area, Forma is surrounded by heritage buildings, art galleries, and boutique shops, making it a perfect spot to unwind before or after a meal.

2.
Darling Dumplings, Circle Road
Tucked away on Circle Road behind the office highrise buildings, Darling Dumplings is a must-visit for food lovers craving authentic flavors. Known for their delicate, handcrafted dumplings, this tiny spot offers a delightful variety that caters to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. With a warm ambiance and friendly service, it’s an easy going spot with distinct red aesthetic and vibey atmopshere :)
Darling Dumplings has become a favored hangout for nearby office workers (we made it our lunch spot), making it a bustling destination during lunch hours and after work.

3.
Xiao Ya Tou, Tanjong Pagar
Standing out amongst the bustling nightlife of Duxton Hill, Xiao Ya Tou is a restaurant bar serving up modern Asian cuisine with a naughty touch - their own words :) A reflection of Duxton Hill's notorious past - where people came to seek their guilty pleasures on a street that used to be lined with brothels, opium rooms and gambling dens - this little eatery gives tourist-trap-vibes but then surprises you with authentic Singaporean flavours!
After a long day of sightseeing or a busy day of meetings, head here to grab a cool beer with friends and order tons of sharing platters. Colorful, tasty & vibey - expect an eclectic mix of dishes and decor!

4.
Club Rangoon, Duxton Road
Club Rangoon is a culinary gem that brings the flavors of Myanmar to Singapore, and is especially well known for its mohinga and tea leaf salad. The design aesthetic beautifully blends traditional Burmese elements with modern touches - think intricate wood carvings mixed with tiled walls. Surrounded by an array of trendy cafes and bars, this spot is a must-visit for food enthusiasts and design lovers alike - could not recommend more!

5.
Alchemist Coffee, Orchard
Okay, there's a looot we could write about Singapore's coffee scene - a list of aesthetically pleasing, well designed coffee spots could probably be a blog post on its own. The Alchemist Coffee in Orchard for sure sits amongst the top five of most striking cafes in Singapore!
Following its humble beginnings at Tanjong Pagar in 2016, Alchemist has seen exponential growth over the years with a total of ~7 outlets by now. With a recognizable minimalistic design, touch of greenery and wood accents, the "outdoor" concept is a true gem for those of use who love the humidity of South East Asia :)
