The Baba Tree Basket Company, based in Bolgatanga, aspires to a new model of ethical business that sees all of us as partners in an unfolding global transformation. Each basket comes directly from the hands of the artisan weavers themselves - energetic, colourful, purposeful. Each luscious curve is the handprint or signature of the weaver who has expertly handcrafted your basket; the unique differences in each and every piece are celebrated.

• To clean: scrub any marks gently with a fine bristled brush, a little water and a gentle soap. Allow to dry in a well ventilated area out of the sun.

Take care to keep any leather elements dry

• To reshape: spray with cold water or submerge it completely for 60 seconds. Let the basket sit for a few minutes so the material has time to absorb the water, then shake the excess water out of the basket. Press and mould the basket to your desired shape or stuff a bunch of newspaper inside the basket. Let it dry in a place with good airflow but try to keep it off direct sunlight to prevent the colors from fading.
