soy wax candles
what is soy wax?
soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. after harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. the oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
first time burning your candle
when burning your candle for the first time, make sure that the first layer of wax is completely melted before putting it out.
that way your candle will burn out evenly throughout its course.
cleaning your ceramic candle
once the candle burned its course you can clean it and use the ceramic holder as a catch all bowl.
add boiling water to the ceramic bowl, wait 1 to 2 hours for the water to cool off. the residue wax will float to the top and can easily remove.
clean with water & dish soap. repeat process until all the wax is completely gone.
about your ceramic bowl
the ceramic bowls that hold our soy candles are hand made out of a ceramic material called stoneware, they are fired super high in ceramic kilns, which makes them dishwasher-safe and microwaveable.
